Neither Cold Nor Hot
Published: 2026-08-13 | Modified: 2026-08-19
Revelation 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art NEITHER COLD NOR HOT: I WOULD THOU WERT COLD or HOT.
What does Jesus mean by NEITHER COLD NOR HOT in the above? It is obvious: before we know what Jesus means by NEITHER COLD NOR HOT, we must first know what COLD means and what HOT means by Jesus. One popular saying among the Churches is: having faith means having belief in heart, and being faithful means having commitment in action; being faithful requires one step further from having faith. Based on this saying, one explanation of NEITHER COLD NOR HOT is: HOT means having faith and committing in action; COLD means having no faith; thus NEITHER COLD NOR HOT means having faith but not committing in action. It does make sense. However, in Revelation 3:15, from the first phrase, where NEITHER COLD NOR HOT is mentioned by Jesus, when we read further into the next phrase, after the punctuation of colon, Jesus says "I WOULD THOU WERT" to URGE us to be COLD or HOT. Now we have A PROBLEM with this explanation.
According to the second phrase of the exact same verse, Revelation 3:15, although being NEITHER COLD NOR HOT is not allowed by Jesus, yet either being COLD or being HOT is urged by Jesus. Since both COLD and HOT are urged by Jesus, then we can choose not only to be HOT, but also to be COLD. However, according to the above explanation, HOT means having faith and committing in action, COLD means having NO FAITH. Nevertheless, both HOT and COLD are urged by Jesus, then we can choose not only to have faith and commitment in action as being HOT, but also to have NO FAITH as being COLD. However, the very beginning of a Christian life is having FAITH in Jesus. How then, can Jesus consider having NO FAITH - being COLD - to be ACCEPTABLE? Thus, the explanation of COLD as having NO FAITH for Revelation 3:15 is UNACCEPTABLE, and it further causes the ENTIRE COMMON EXPLANATION held by the Churches for Revelation 3:15 to become UNACCEPTABLE as well.
We need to continue seeking an ACCEPTABLE EXPLANATION of what Jesus means by saying NEITHER COLD NOR HOT in Revelation 3:15. The Bible - the BIG BOOK, is the HIGHEST LEVEL of the WORD of GOD on the Earth. As mere human, it should be entirely natural for us to find out that we do NOT YET have a GOOD EXPLANATION for everything it says. Meanwhile, the Little Book claims it is ordained by GOD to be the OFFICIAL COMPANION BOOK of The Bible in the End Times; should the Little Book "Revealing The Bible's Truth" at the very least teach us where and how to seek so that we may ultimately find an ACCEPTABLE EXPLANATION? The answer is a resounding YES; the Little Book does teach us where and how to seek. On Page 12 in the third paragraph, the Little Book has faithfully RECORDED what GOD TAUGHT the author FACE TO FACE, as follows:
HE also TAUGHT me that within the Scriptures were all of the ANSWERS to any QUESTION, and that those ANSWERS would be OBTAINABLE to me once I knew how to see into the Scripture itself. THE LORD told me furthermore that THE HOLY BIBLE had a SELF-EXPLANATION and a SELF-VERIFICATION as well as the ANSWER to any QUESTION that may arise from it. THE LORD also said that all that I would NEED to accompany the Bible and assist me in my learning, was an ENGLISH DICTIONARY to help me understand the correct meanings of certain WORDS.
As The Bible - the BIG BOOK, has the capacity for SELF-VERIFICATION, by following what is taught by GOD in the Little Book, the Editor has now shown you how to RULE OUT the popular explanation of NEITHER COLD NOR HOT by the Churches. We are able to do this by VERIFYING IT with the second phrase, in the same verse of Revelation 3:15, which is also the words of Jesus. Now, it is time for us to utilize another capacity of The Bible - the BIG BOOK, which has the capacity of SELF-EXPLANATION. The editor will show you how to seek and find ANOTHER EXPLANATION of NEITHER COLD NOR HOT, which is better than the explanation we discussed previously. The Scripture that we shall examine is the verse immediately before Revelation 3:15:
Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the FAITHFUL AND TRUE WITNESS, the beginning of the creation of GOD;
Jesus says SEEK, and ye shall FIND, so don't expect to see the explanation DIRECTLY from the Scripture above, as GOD even HIDES the most fundamental truth of HIS EXISTENCE from the sight of most people, unless they diligently seek HIM. Now, let us focus on the above phrase in bold font style, which is FAITHFUL AND TRUE WITNESS. For all three words in this phrase, "FAITHFUL", "TRUE", and "WITNESS", only the first word "FAITHFUL" and the last word "WITNESS" are heard frequently from the pulpits of the Churches. For the word "WITNESS", there is even a Christian denomination that names itself "Jehovah's Witnesses". As for the word "FAITHFUL", its noun form is "FAITH", and almost every denomination uses a statement of FAITH as its defining banner. However, the word "TRUE" is mentioned far less frequently by the Churches, including its noun form "TRUTH". While we have ruled out the previous explanation of NEITHER COLD NOR HOT, which is based on the concept of FAITH, now we will try to SEEK and FIND another explanation of NEITHER COLD NOR HOT, which is based on the concept of TRUTH.
Often the noun form of a word reveals deeper understanding than its adjective form. The noun "FAITH", for example, opens MORE INSIGHT than the adjective "FAITHFUL". Likewise, the noun "TRUTH" sheds MORE LIGHT than the adjective "TRUE", the term used in Revelation 3:14. Moreover, a TRUTH that can be PRACTICED is more valuable than one that cannot. For this reason, the verb "WITNESS", in contrast to the noun "WITNESS", in Revelation 3:14, also ENRICHES our understanding. By adjusting both terms, the original phrase "FAITHFUL AND TRUE WITNESS" may be expressed as WITNESS TRUTH FAITHFULLY. The meaning remains INTACT, yet the perspective shifts. And if Jesus, the Son of GOD, WITNESSES TRUTH FAITHFULLY, should we not follow his example? This transformed phrase therefore offers a fresh lens for understanding what HOT means and what COLD means.
The central word in the new perspective above is TRUTH. Whoever LOVES TRUTH naturally HATES LIES. Thus, one may be HOT in LOVING TRUTH and simultaneously COLD in HATING LIES. Under this view, COLD is no longer the negative condition described in the earlier explanation based on FAITH. Instead, within the framework of TRUTH, COLD becomes the necessary counterpart of HOT: whoever truly LOVES TRUTH must also HATE LIES. This understanding harmonizes with Jesus’ words in Revelation 3:15: "I would thou wert COLD or HOT". Both attitudes are PROPER for one who upholds TRUTH — unless he acts deceitfully. Scripture itself presents this pairing of LOVING TRUTH and HATING LIES:
Psalms 97:10 Ye that LOVE THE LORD, HATE EVIL: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
Psalms 45:7 Thou LOVEST RIGHTEOUSNESS, and HATEST WICKEDNESS: therefore GOD, thy GOD, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Psalm 97:10 tells us that GOD requires all who LOVE THE LORD to HATE EVIL. Psalm 45:7 further explains why GOD gives such a REQUIREMENT: whoever LOVES RIGHTEOUSNESS must also HATE WICKEDNESS, unless his love for righteousness is FAKE. It is impossible for GOD to count someone who does not HATE WICKEDNESS as one who truly LOVES RIGHTEOUSNESS. Therefore, when someone does not HATE EVIL yet claims to LOVE GOD, he is just a HYPOCRITE in the EYES of GOD. So if you neither HATE WICKEDNESS nor LOVE RIGHTEOUSNESS, you will be counted as those who actually LOVE EVIL and HATE GOD. In this way, the deeper meaning of Revelation 3:15 becomes clear: those who neither HATE LIES nor LOVE TRUTH, being neither COLD nor HOT, are counted as those who actually LOVE LIES and HATE TRUTH. That is why Jesus urges us to be either COLD to HATE LIES or HOT to LOVE TRUTH, but not to be LUKEWARM as neither COLD to HATE LIES nor HOT to LOVE TRUTH.
However, our life IN FLESH is LIMITED; we possess only LIMITED time and strength, and therefore cannot pursue and uphold every TRUTH that exists. GOD is righteous; HE will not hold us accountable for what is beyond our ability. This leads to the essential question: Which TRUTH does Jesus urge us to uphold — especially in the End Times? If The Bible - the BIG BOOK truly has the capacity of SELF-EXPLANATION and SELF-VERIFICATION, then the answer must be found in the Bible itself. For this reason, we turn to Revelation 3:21, where Jesus tells us the REWARD for those who OVERCOME LUKEWARMNESS — those who are either COLD to HATE LIES or HOT to LOVE TRUTH:
Revelation 3:21 To him that OVERCOMETH will I grant to SIT WITH ME IN MY THRONE, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
According to this Scripture, the HIGHEST REWARD a Christian can receive is to SIT WITH JESUS IN HIS THRONE. The only higher THRONE is the THRONE of the FATHER, and it is obvious that only Jesus can receive that REWARD. This is because only Jesus lived without sin before age thirty, and after age thirty he served GOD not only without sin, but also without fault, even unto death. If any Christian could receive the SAME REWARD as Jesus, he would sit among the TRINITY as Jesus does, and the GODHEAD would become a quadrinity, pentinity, and so on. That is impossible and absurd. Therefore, as Revelation 3:21 declares, the HIGHEST REWARD for all Christians is to SIT WITH JESUS IN HIS THRONE. This RELATIONSHIP is clearly the CLOSEST RELATIONSHIP a Christian can have with Jesus. And since The Bible - the BIG BOOK has the capacity of SELF-EXPLANATION and SELF-VERIFICATION, there must be other Scriptures that further explain THIS CLOSEST RELATIONSHIP:
Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which FOLLOW THE LAMB WHITHERSOEVER HE GOETH. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto GOD and to the Lamb.
At first glance, it may seem the Scripture above does not explicitly mention SITTING WITH JESUS IN HIS THRONE at all. However, we have already concluded that SITTING WITH JESUS IN HIS THRONE is the CLOSEST RELATIONSHIP a Christian can have with Jesus. Revelation 14:4 tells us that the Tribulation Saints follow Jesus wherever Jesus goes. This means they follow Jesus even when Jesus goes to SIT in HIS THRONE. Therefore, by following Jesus into HIS THRONE, the Tribulation Saints also SIT WITH JESUS IN HIS THRONE. If GOD has opened your eyes, this becomes clear: in the SEASON of FIRSTFRUITS unto GOD, which is the SECOND SEASON of the End Times, the OVERCOMERS of the Church of Laodicea in Revelation 3:14-21, are exactly the Tribulation Saints in Revelation 14:3-5. Therefore, even as the Laodicean OVERCOMERS must be either COLD to HATE LIES or HOT to LOVE TRUTH; all the Tribulation Saints must likewise be either COLD to HATE LIES or HOT to LOVE TRUTH. Yet again, which TRUTH do they uphold specifically? And again, because The Bible - the BIG BOOK has the capacity of SELF-EXPLANATION and SELF-VERIFICATION, we can find the answer in the very next verse of the Scriptures right after Revelation 14:4.
Revelation 14:5 And in their MOUTH was found NO GUILE: for they are WITHOUT FAULT before the throne of GOD.
The Tribulation Saints will carry out the work of the Great Harvest in the End Times. Their way to harvest is to PREACH the GOSPEL to the Wedding Guests. When the Scripture above says "in their MOUTH was found NO GUILE" and that "they are WITHOUT FAULT", it means they will PREACH the WORD of GOD without the MISINTERPRETATIONS and MISUNDERSTANDINGS of MEN. In contrast, the Fallen Churches are divided into many denominations, each built upon different doctrines that reek of the MISINTERPRETATIONS and MISUNDERSTANDINGS of MEN. Some Fallen Churches even uphold different versions of the Bible. However, by embracing the Little Book, the Tribulation Saints become different. In the past, King James Bible Only Movement was simply a non-official movement - OPTIONAL for GOD'S people. But after the Little Book has declared in the NAME of GOD that King James 1611 Bible is the Only Official Bible in the End Times, it becomes MANDATORY. Furthermore, the Little Book exposes KEY FALLACIES in what the Fallen Churches PREACH concerning the GOSPEL. Thus, the Little Book brings all the Tribulation Saints into unity: one Bible, one GOSPEL, one Church in the End Times.
Revelation 3:16 So then because thou art LUKEWARM, and NEITHER COLD NOR HOT, I will SPUE THEE OUT of MY MOUTH.
Up to this point, we have examined the REWARD for overcoming LUKEWARMNESS among the Laodiceans, and we have discovered the TRUTH that enables us to OVERCOME being NEITHER COLD NOR HOT. But because The Bible - the BIG BOOK has the capacity of SELF-EXPLANATION and SELF-VERIFICATION, we should also examine the PUNISHMENT for failing to OVERCOME, as stated in the Scripture above, to see whether the SAME TRUTH appears again within the Bible itself. In Revelation 3:16, "MY MOUTH" refers to the MOUTH of Jesus, which PREACHES the GOSPEL. The Laodicean OVERCOMERS will PREACH PRECISELY the SAME GOSPEL with their MOUTHS as what is exactly written in the Four Gospels of Jesus and the Revelation of Jesus. But the non-OVERCOMERS of the Laodiceans PREACH DIFFERENTLY from what is truly written in the Four Gospels of Jesus and the Revelation of Jesus. Therefore, they are DISQUALIFIED from being the MOUTH of Jesus. This DISQUALIFICATION causes them to be SPUED OUT - EXPELLED from the protection Jesus provides. And once they are SPUED OUT, where do they land? On the ground. That is precisely where the Gentiles will "TREAD UNDER FOOT" as stated in Revelation 11:2:
Revelation 11:2 But the court which is WITHOUT THE TEMPLE leave out, and measure it not; for it is GIVEN UNTO THE GENTILES: and the holy city shall they TREAD UNDER FOOT forty and two months.
Revelation 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art WRETCHED, and MISERABLE, and POOR, and BLIND, and NAKED:
Now we can gain DEEPER UNDERSTANDING of why Jesus says the Laodiceans who have not yet OVERCOME are "WRETCHED, and MISERABLE, and POOR, and BLIND, and NAKED" in Revelation 3:17. The first layer of meaning concerns their current SPIRITUAL STATE. But the second layer of meaning concerns their PHYSICAL STATE in the future, for they will be "TRODDEN UNDER FOOT" by the Gentiles who do not know the TRUE GOD. According to Revelation 11:2, the reason the COURT is "GIVEN UNTO THE GENTILES", but not the TEMPLE, is GOD desires HIS people to have a CLOSE and DEDICATED RELATIONSHIP with HIM, a relationship inside the TEMPLE, shielded from public view in the COURT, not a FAR and SHARED RELATIONSHIP outside the TEMPLE, exposed to public view in the COURT. And in Revelation 3:20, Jesus explains the WAY OUT for the Laodiceans who have not yet OVERCOME:
Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the DOOR, and KNOCK: if any man hear my voice, and open the DOOR, I will come in to him, and will SUP with him, and he with me.
As we discussed previously, the CLOSEST RELATIONSHIP with Jesus is to SIT WITH JESUS IN HIS THRONE. Both the Tribulation Saints and the Laodicean OVERCOMERS have THIS KIND of RELATIONSHIP with Jesus. However, before we can have the CLOSEST RELATIONSHIP with Jesus, we must first have a CLOSE and DEDICATED RELATIONSHIP with him. In John 2:19, Jesus told the Pharisees: "Destroy this TEMPLE, and in three days I will raise it up". After Jesus died on the cross and rose again, GOD no longer used any physical TEMPLE, whether on the Dome site in Jerusalem or anywhere else. The TEMPLE of GOD is now inside our HEART. In the Scripture above, Revelation 3:20, it is clear that the DOOR Jesus KNOCKS on is the DOOR of our HEART. When we open our HEART to him, Jesus will enter the TEMPLE of our HEART to dwell inside us. The word "SUP" means to share a meal. What shall we eat with Jesus? Even the WORD of GOD. In John 6:51, Jesus says he is the BREAD from heaven, and he further teaches that anyone who desires ETERNAL LIFE must EAT the WORD of GOD. Yet for the Tribulation Saints to be QUALIFIED to PREACH the GOSPEL with the SEAL of GOD in the End Times, besides the Bible, they must also EAT an ADDITIONAL PART of the WORD of GOD. And because The Bible - the BIG BOOK has the capacity of SELF-EXPLANATION and SELF-VERIFICATION, this ADDITIONAL PART of the WORD of GOD is being written PLAINLY in Revelation 10:9-11:
Revelation 10:9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the Little Book. And he said unto me, Take it, and EAT IT UP; and it shall make thy BELLY BITTER, but it shall be in thy MOUTH SWEET as honey.
Revelation 10:10 And I took the Little Book out of the angel's hand, and ATE IT UP; and it was in my MOUTH SWEET as honey: and as soon as I had EATEN IT, my BELLY was BITTER.
Revelation 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must PROPHESY AGAIN before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
It is NO COINCIDENCE that the Scriptures above mention the "Little Book" twice and command us to "EAT IT" three times. This is more than enough evidence to say that in the End Times, one must embrace the Little Book in order to OVERCOME being NEITHER COLD NOR HOT, and thus become both a Tribulation Saint and a Laodicean OVERCOMER. However, does "SUP" simply mean reading the Little Book? ABSOLUTELY NOT. In this meal where we "SUP" with Jesus, The Bible - the BIG BOOK is the MAIN DISH, and the Little Book is only the SIDE DISH. Some Christians have read the Little Book and are ENTHUSIASTIC in advocating it. But as long as they have not THOROUGHLY COMBINED the Little Book with The Bible - the BIG BOOK, they still RETAIN the SAME TRAITS as the Fallen Churches. It is NEVER EASY to THOROUGHLY COMBINE them. And to your surprise, even the AUTHOR of the Little Book, who is the DELIVERER and the 182 PERSON, failed to do so. It is because he did not FULLY COMBINE the Little Book with The Bible - the BIG BOOK, later he ended up SINNING before GOD while still IN FLESH.
The End Times have many distinctive characteristics. For example, only in the End Times, do the Laodicean OVERCOMERS become the Tribulation Saints. And only in the End Times, will a selective few of GOD'S people even "SUP" with a DELIVERER or an 182 PERSON. It is an ADVANTAGE to "SUP" with a DELIVERER or an 182 PERSON, as long as you still "SUP" with Jesus. However, if you do not "SUP" with Jesus, simply because you "SUP" with a DELIVERER or an 182 PERSON, you shall FALL just as the Fallen Churches have fallen. The ONLY ROCK upon which we must stand is the WORD of GOD, which is Jesus, NOT ANYONE ELSE, even a DELIVERER or an 182 PERSON, though he DELIVERS the WORD of GOD, or even DELIVERS the BIRTH of Jesus. And because The Bible - the BIG BOOK has the capacity of SELF-EXPLANATION and SELF-VERIFICATION, so when Jesus commands us in Revelation 3:20 to "SUP" with him, then Revelation 10:9-11 provide FURTHER INFORMATION on how we must "SUP" with Jesus.
According to Revelation 10:9-11, when we "SUP" with Jesus, we must pass through THREE IMPORTANT STAGES: "MOUTH SWEET", "BELLY BITTER", and "PROPHESY AGAIN". These THREE IMPORTANT STAGES are neither SKIPPABLE, nor INTERCHANGEABLE. We must go through them one after another, exactly in the order given in the Scripture. The key to successfully complete each of these THREE IMPORTANT STAGES is to COMBINE the Little Book with The Bible - the BIG BOOK. For only The Bible is the WAY of LIFE, the Little Book, as the COMPANION to the Bible, is only the SAFEGUARD along the WAY of LIFE, but it is not the WAY of LIFE itself. In the FIRST STAGE of "MOUTH SWEET", the Little Book reveals many mysteries of GOD and answers many questions concerning the Bible. This does indeed make us feel satisfied. However, if we indulge ourselves in the Little Book alone, without reading it together with the Bible, we ignore the WARNING written on Page 20 of the Little Book: the Little Book has LITTLE VALUE without the Bible. By ignoring this WARNING, we will linger in the FIRST STAGE, feeling only "MOUTH SWEET", but never finish it, and therefore never enter the SECOND STAGE of "BELLY BITTER", not to mention the final THIRD STAGE of "PROPHESY AGAIN".
The SECOND STAGE of "BELLY BITTER" comprises THREE STEPS in total for us to complete it. The reason is that we need go through THREE STEPS to FULLY DIGEST the content of the Little Book. All THREE STEPS do require us to COMBINE the Little Book with The Bible - the BIG BOOK to different degrees. We may compare this process of DIGESTING with SOLVING A JIGSAW PUZZLE. The Little Book is like a SMALL BAG containing only some KEY EDGE PIECES along with a few non-key pieces, while The Bible - the BIG BOOK is like the BIG BAG containing all remaining KEY EDGE PIECES, all KEY CENTER PIECES, and all other pieces. The FIRST STEP is to CHECK the content of the Little Book with the Bible. This is like sorting out all the KEY EDGE PIECES from both SMALL and BIG BAGS. The KEY EDGE PIECES in the SMALL BAG will show special links to the KEY EDGE PIECES in the BIG BAG, helping us recognize all KEY EDGE PIECES. The SECOND STEP is to ATTACH the content of the Little Book to the Bible. This is like connecting all KEY EDGE PIECES from both SMALL and BIG BAGS to form large sections of the BORDER. The THIRD STEP is to further our understanding of the Bible beyond the Little Book. This is like solving the puzzle from the EDGES toward the CENTER and eventually completing it. Only then do we see the WHOLE PICTURE. Once we complete this THIRD STEP, we will have actually completed the ENTIRE SECOND STAGE of "BELLY BITTER". Now that we FULLY UNDERSTAND the GOSPEL, we can PREACH the GOSPEL WITHOUT GUILE and WITHOUT FAULT - just like the Tribulation Saints in the End Times - thereby entering the final THIRD STAGE, "PROPHESY AGAIN".
When we use the imagery, it becomes easy for us to see why the SECOND STAGE is called "BELLY BITTER" in the Scripture. Since THIS STAGE is the STAGE of DIGESTIN, and the BELLY is where DIGESTION mainly takes place, the word "BELLY" is very fitting here. But why is the word "BITTER" used? The reason is that it is genuinely DIFFICULT to combine the Little Book with The Bible - the BIG BOOK. This work is so DEMANDING that many readers of the Little Book have never even ATTEMPTED it; even the author of the Little Book failed to complete it, though he did try. As for why is the THIRD STAGE called "PROPHESY AGAIN" instead of simply "PROPHESY": in this context, the word "PROPHESY" refers to PREACHING the GOSPEL. The first layer of meaning concerns Apostle John. He once PREACHED the GOSPEL in the earliest days of the Churches. Even though Apostle John saw Jesus with his own eyes, he was UNABLE to PREACH the GOSPEL WITHOUT GUILE and WITHOUT FAULT, because he was not yet in the SEASON of FIRSTFRUITS unto GOD. However, the spirit of Apostle John shall be in FLESH again in the End Times. And in the SEASON of FIRSTFRUITS unto GOD, as a Tribulation Saint, Apostle John shall PREACH AGAIN the GOSPEL, but this time he is WITHOUT GUILE and WITHOUT FAULT. The second layer of meaning concerns the Churches. For the same reason as Apostle John, the Churches were UNABLE to PREACH the GOSPEL WITHOUT GUILE and WITHOUT FAULT all the way until the rising of the Tribulation Saints in the SEASON of FIRSTFRUITS unto GOD. After the Tribulation Saints are SEALED by GOD in the End Times, they shall PREACH AGAIN, not only WITHOUT GUILE and WITHOUT FAULT, but also in unity: one Bible, one GOSPEL, one Church. These are the meanings of "PROPHESY AGAIN".
Now it should become clear that the KEY to being COLD OR HOT, instead of NEITHER COLD NOR HOT, is to "SUP" with Jesus. And in the End Times, if we truly want to "SUP" with Jesus, we must embrace the Little Book. To yield the FIRSTFRUITS unto GOD, as the Little Book declares in the NAME of GOD, Jesus requires the Laodicean OVERCOMERS to eat KJB 1611 as their MAIN DISH, and the Little Book as their SIDE DISH. This requirement is MANDATORY for all the Tribulation Saints, because it is the KEY that enables them to PREACH the GOSPEL WITHOUT GUILE and WITHOUT FAULT, in order to become the FIRSTFRUITS unto GOD. Someone may ask how we can know the Little Book is true. No one should accept a truth before first examining it. This leads to the second layer of meaning behind being COLD OR HOT. When we are UNCERTAIN about whether SOMETHING SIGNIFICANT is true, we should either try to INVALIDATE it, which is being COLD, or try to VALIDATE, which is being HOT. If we neither attempt to INVALIDATE it nor attempt to VALIDATE it, then we are simply LUKEWARM, being NEITHER COLD NOR HOT. This LUKEWARMNESS is the very CONDITION Jesus WARNS us AGAINST.
We can further EXPLAIN this CONDITION with a PARABLE. A king makes war against a vile prince. He sends a group of soldiers who are still IN TRAINING onto the battlefield ahead of his MAIN ARMY'S ATTACK, for it is a TEST of FAITHFULNESS and INTELLIGENCE for those soldiers in real combat. However, when this group of soldiers ENCOUNTERS the enemy, they are DECEIVED into CONFUSION. They become DIVIDED into VARIOUS UNITS and begin fighting against ONE ANOTHER while also fighting against the enemy. The king receives the BAD REPORTS from the scouts who are monitoring the battlefield. He realizes that if he does NOT INTERVENE, every unit of these soldiers will be DEFEATED, whether the unit is large, small, or even a single individual. The king then speaks to one of his CLOSE ASSISTANTS, a famous general, and says that he wants him to go into the battlefield and give all the soldiers GUIDANCE IN THE NAME of the king, so that they may STRIKE the enemy with ACCURACY. When the general arrives, he quickly writes a BOOKLET IN THE NAME of the king. The BOOKLET DETAILS what will happen on the battlefield, how a soldier should fight, what the rewards are for those who OVERCOME, and what the king's main army will do LATER, etc. Some soldiers receive the BOOKLET with joy, study it carefully, and APPLY its instructions in their battles. Some soldiers DOUBT it at first, but after taking the time and effort to examine it thoroughly, they too come to believe in it and PUT IT INTO PRACTICE. However, the majority of the soldiers prefer to continue fighting in THEIR OLD WAYS, feeling that checking the BOOKLET is merely a DISTRACTION.
And very soon, further reports were brought back by the scouts. After listening to them, the king let out a sigh. He said that this was a TEST of FAITHFULNESS and INTELLIGENCE, and that he could not give those soldiers MORE OBVIOUS HINTS. For the soldiers who OVERCOME, they will be taken to a SAFE ZONE before the king's main army launches its attack. They shall not only enjoy REST, but also be QUALIFIED to be his soldiers FOREVER. But for those who do not OVERCOME, they will be left behind in the battlefield to PAY THE PRICE for their FOOLISHNESS and STUBBORNNESS. They would be DEFEATED by the enemy and would SUFFER in the hands of the enemy. However, after being captured, those who remain FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH will receive A REWARD from the king, and he will set a banquet of ONE THOUSAND YEARS for them before sending them back to their own countries, since they do NOT QUALIFY to be his soldiers FOREVER. As for those who choose to JOIN THE ENEMY after being captured, they shall BE DESTROYED along with the enemy, when the king's main army attacks. In the end, there is NO OTHER WAY OUT.
After entering the SECOND SEASON of the End Times, which is also the SEASON of FIRSTFRUITS unto GOD, beginning with A GREAT METEOR SHOWER hittings the Earth, all Christians, except fot the Tribulation Saints, shall SUFFER the apocalypse, including the Saints. This is because, only the Tribulation Saints are inside the TEMPLE of GOD, sitting in the THRONE of Jesus and having the SEAL of GOD, all other Christians stand on the GROUND of the TEMPLE'S COURT, where the Gentiles will TREAD UNDER FOOT. Those who are SPUED OUT of the MOUTH of Jesus stand there as well, and therefore shall suffer the TREADING too, for they are the Saints, but not the Tribulation Saints. Although the term "Tribulation Saint" contains only ONE MORE WORD "Tribulation" than the term "Saint", the DISTINCTION between them is ABSOLUTE: the former will have the SEAL of GOD, but the latter will not. Many Scriptures speak of the SUFFERING of the Saints in the End Times; the following represent only A SELECTIVE FEW verses from the Scriptures.
Daniel 7:21 I beheld, and the same horn MADE WAR WITH the SAINTS, and PREVAILED AGAINST THEM;
Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall WEAR OUT the SAINTS of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
Daniel 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall DESTROY the mighty and the HOLY PEOPLE.
Daniel 11:33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet THEY SHALL FALL BY THE SWORD, AND BY FLAME, BY CAPTIVITY, AND BY SPOIL, many days.
Daniel 12:7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to SCATTER THE POWER OF THE HOLY PEOPLE, all these things shall be finished.
Revelation 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were SLAIN for the WORD of GOD, and for the testimony which they held:
Revelation 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our BLOOD on them that dwell on the earth?
Revelation 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should BE KILLED as they were, should be fulfilled.
Revelation 2:9, I know thy works, and TRIBULATION, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
Revelation 2:10, Fear none of those things which thou shalt SUFFER,: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Final words. After you have accepted the LITTLE BOOK, your RIGHT ATTITUDE as being COLD is to expose fervently the MISINTERPRETATIONS and MISUNDERSTANDINGS of the Bible that the LITTLE BOOK points out. Meanwhile, your RIGHT ATTITUDE as being HOT is to study the Bible — the Big Book — as diligently as the LITTLE BOOK instructs you to do.
However, if you are still UNCERTAIN about whether to accept the LITTLE BOOK, then your RIGHT ATTITUDE as being COLD is to do your best to INVALIDATE it based on what the Bible says, and your RIGHT ATTITUDE as being HOT is to do your best to VALIDATE it based on what the Bible says. Both INVALIDATING and VALIDATING are the RIGHT ATTUTUDES before GOD. In other words, whether COLD or HOT, as long as you ENGAGE the LITTLE BOOK directly and seriously, using the Bible as your standard, you are APPROVED by Jesus.
Regardless of whether you have ACCEPTED the LITTLE BOOK, it is always WRONG to simply set it aside without careful consideration. Such an ATTITUDE reflects the very condition of being NEITHER COLD NOR HOT - the very condition that Jesus WARNS us AGAINST.
It is YOUR CHOICE before GOD: TO BE OR NOT TO BE!
Revelation 2:11 HE THAT HATH AN EAR, LET HIM HEAR WHAT THE SPIRIT SAITH UNTO THE CHURCHES; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
